United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin met with former Defense Minister and member of the emergency government Benny Gantz yesterday in Israel, according to what the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published on its X page.
She added that he stressed the United States’ support for Israel’s right to defend itself against what he described as terrorism, meaning the resistance men in the Palestinian Gaza Strip.
Israel has been waging a war on the Gaza Strip for more than two months, which has claimed the lives of more than 19,000 people, most of them children and women. Observers and analysts have described it as a war of genocide.
This war comes after a specific operation carried out by the resistance men (Hamas organization) on the seventh of last October in response to Israel’s continued occupation of their lands for about 75 years, which was called Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
In that operation, within 25 minutes, the resistance men were able to penetrate 25 sites within the so-called Gaza envelope, killing a large number of soldiers, in addition to capturing a number of other soldiers and settlement residents, in addition to seizing all documents, files, and disks in the most important spy center in the world, which is run by the United States. The center is located at the Orem military base "Yarkon", which is one of the most important facilities for espionage and intelligence gathering and the headquarters of Unit 8200, which is the most prominent Israeli military intelligence unit, known by the abbreviation "Aman", and its location is in the city of Herzliya, north of Tel Aviv.
