Biden failed to convince Israeli leaders to impose a humanitarian truce in Gaza

Sarrah News – US President Joe Biden admitted his failure to persuade Israeli leaders to agree to a humanitarian truce in Gaza

. This came in a tweet on his account tonight.

For weeks, I have been speaking with Israeli leaders about the importance of a humanitarian pause in the fight to get civilians to safety, support the release of hostages, and increase the flow of food, water and medicine into Gaza.

US President Joe Biden had said earlier that there would be two humanitarian corridors that would allow residents to leave the areas of hostilities in Gaza, according to his description, pointing out at the same time that Tel Aviv takes its own decisions and affirming its commitment to differentiation and compliance with international law.

The White House also announced Thursday that Tel Aviv will begin implementing a four-hour daily truce in northern Gaza.

Following these statements, the Israeli army launched intense attacks with aircraft and missiles on many areas of Gaza, targeting hospitals, mosques and residential buildings, which led to the death of large numbers of children and women.
